856 Hammer Price was $80.00 "PADDY WAGON CALLER" used by Milwaukee Police Dept. over 100 years ago (c. mid/late 19th C.), the last of these units were purchased by the city in the early 1930's, bearing the following legend: "The mechanism is activated by a crank that compresses a flat steel spring, one of the brass wheels is coded with a pattern of indentations which open and close an electrical circuit that sends a programmed telegraphic message to the police station. The code would tell the location of the call box and a "paddy wagon" could be dispatched." Opening bid: $45
